Our Story
Eden Montessori International School was birthed from a yearning to provide relevant, respectful education in this 21st Century. A group of like minded families united to allow our children to flourish and grow in freedom. From a growing dissatisfaction with what mainstream education and its “one size fits all approach” has to offer we searched for an education system that is inclusive, respectful to children; that nurtures independence and a love of learning while offering a child freedom of choice within limits and we found …Montessori … And the rest as they say is History!
Overcoming many hurdles over the first three years of trying to make a school a reality, and through much toil, blood, sweat and tears, EDEN Montessori International School was Born!
We support the natural development of the human being from birth until maturity, allowing children to become transformational elements in society, resulting in a more harmonious and peaceful world.
Respect is our watchword: we respect ourselves, each other, and our environment.
Our EDEN is a diversified landscape of international people and learning spaces, combining urban and rural elements to create a natural ambience without equal, where our learners feel in harmony with their learning environment and free to reach their maximum potential.
Our MONTESSORI means, educating the whole child, promoting the acquisition of 21st century skills, needed to function in this global economy. We adopt the Montessori Principles of: intrinsic motivation, independence, self-directed learning and social responsibility. Our learners embody these principles through celebration of their individual and shared talents.
Our IB STUDIES are transdisciplinary and create a love of real world life-long learning. Our multilingual approach helps our learners in a path towards international mindedness. We encourage entrepreneurship and agency in our learners and help them to see the importance of giving back to the community.
Our SCHOOL is a vibrant multicultural community and we aim for connection at all levels; we uphold *Christian values while respecting all faiths and we welcome families within the neighbouring community and society in general.
*As a Christian school in a Christian country, we celebrate Christian holidays in the traditional way. We teach Christian values and expect children to learn right from wrong. While we do not teach any religion we do talk about the real reasons behind Christian holidays and we read from the Bible and Pray in Assembly, and sing hymns. We do not celebrate Halloween or other pagan festivals. We are respectful of diversity, and all faiths, and expect all children and adults here to do the same.
